Geochemist
Editorial policy
Independent analysis.
Open scientific dialogue.
The Economic Geochemist aims to represent published research accurately, distinguish evidence from interpretation, and respond transparently when concerns are raised.
Editorial independence
The Economic Geochemist is an independent publication. Reviews express the editor’s interpretation of the cited research and do not imply endorsement by the paper’s authors, their institutions, the journal or its publisher.
Any material sponsorship, collaboration or conflict of interest relevant to a review will be disclosed with that article. Unless explicitly stated, authors and publishers have not commissioned, approved or paid for the review.
How papers are reviewed
Each article identifies and links to the original paper, summarises its principal evidence and conclusions, and evaluates its possible relevance to mineral exploration and mining. Reviews are critical interpretations, not substitutes for reading the original publication.
Direct quotation is kept limited and clearly attributed. Figures are either reproduced with permission and appropriate credit or presented as original conceptual interpretations.
Authors, responses and corrections
Authors are warmly invited to comment on reviews of their work, clarify an interpretation, identify a factual error or provide relevant context. Substantive corrections will be made promptly and, where appropriate, identified transparently on the article.
A reasoned author response may also be added or linked to the review when it helps readers understand a genuine scientific disagreement. The purpose is constructive discussion, not the final word on a paper.
Copyright concerns and removal requests
The Economic Geochemist does not claim ownership of the papers it discusses. Copyright remains with the respective authors and publishers. Reviews are produced in good faith for criticism, commentary and education, with attribution and a link to the original source.
If you are an author, rights holder or publisher and believe a review misrepresents the research, uses material inappropriately or should be removed, please contact the editor at editor@economicgeochemist.com. Every request will be considered promptly and may result in clarification, correction, revised attribution or removal where appropriate.
For authors
Dialogue is welcome.
